Babies News

Our topic this month is all about ‘Animals’

The babies will be having fun learning about the different sounds animals make. We will be looking at farm animals, jungle animals, insects and pets. The babies will be helping care for our pet guinea pigs by feeding them and petting them. We will be learning the baby’s new songs and reading them short stories about animals. The babies also be using their feet to create animal footprints using paint.

The babies will be creating lots of artwork for St. David’s Day and St Patrick’s Day. We will also be creating something special for our mummies for Mother’s Day.

Tot’s News

This month our topic will continue to focus on ‘People who help us’

We will be getting the parents involved by asking them about their occupations and how they help people. We will encourage the children to join in discussions with us and provide them with a range of books that show different occupations. We will also be setting the children (and parents) a little piece of homework. This involves developing the children’s numeracy skills. Rachael and Vinny will discuss this with parents further.

We will also be celebrating St Patrick’s Day by creating clovers and St David’s Day by asking the children to dress in yellow.

2plus News

This month our topic is all about ‘Clothing and Weather’

The children will be learning about weather and the different clothes you wear. We have noticed that some children dislike putting on their coat to go outside so we hope this topic will give them a better understanding of why we must wear our coats during cold months. This month the 2plus children will be getting very creative. With Easter just around the corner we will be creating Easter baskets and also going on an Easter egg hunt. This will be based outdoors.

The children will also be creating Mother’s Day cards for the special people in their lives. The children (and staff) will also be showing off their cooking skills by baking cakes, creating ginger bread men and lots more.

Pre-school News

This month our topic is ‘Music Galore’

During this topic the children will be experiencing music from all over the world and discussing the different sounds they can hear. The children will have the opportunity to create their own instruments using junk modelling and experiment with them by creating different sounds. The children will be listening to different genres of music from opera to rock.

We will be celebrating many different festivals this month which include St David’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Easter. The children will also be creating something special for Mother’s Day.

We will also be learning about Growing and Change and planting vegetables, flowers and more.
